Today we were at my oldest son football club year end party where someone told me a story about the meaning of the number 404, when you try to connect to a web site page that does not exist, you usually get an error 404 message. The number 404 is related to a room number at the CERN this person told me.
It just needed a Google search on “History of 404” to find a page that seems to be fully dedicated to Error 404. The “room number” story seems to be just a myth, according to the 404 Research Lab, no such room number exists at the CERN.
